About the role
Are you great at connecting with young people and helping them take their next step towards work? We are looking for a youth-focused Trainer to join the Jobs Guarantee programme, delivering practical, engaging sessions that build confidence, employability skills and belief in what is possible.
You will bring programme content to life through group delivery, coaching-style conversations and tailored support. Your sessions will help young people understand the world of work, recognise their strengths, practise workplace behaviours and prepare for opportunities that feel realistic and achievable.
What you will be doing
- Deliver lively, accessible training sessions that help young people build confidence, motivation and practical employability skills.
- Adapt your approach to different learning styles, confidence levels, abilities and support needs.
- Work closely with Employment Advisors so training links directly to each young person’s action plan and progression goals.
- Create a safe, inclusive and motivating space where young people feel listened to, positively challenged and supported to move forward.
- Cover topics such as communication, CVs, interviews, job search, employer expectations, digital skills, wellbeing and workplace behaviours.
- Keep accurate records, gather feedback and use it to improve the learning experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
