Help prepare S.W.U.G. School Edition remotely for now, then lead approved on-site sessions in Portsmouth for young people aged 8–16. School partnerships and delivery dates are still being developed.
What difference will you make?
An organised, inclusive delivery team can help young people participate, build confidence and demonstrate different talents. The role supports the preparation of School Edition so delivery can proceed professionally when school, safeguarding, insurance and operational arrangements are confirmed.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
- At least three years of professional experience leading or facilitating youth activities, gained in paid or voluntary work
- Strong rapport with children and young people
- Confident group leadership
- Calm, dependable and inclusive communication
- Professional boundaries
- Ability to manage activities and volunteers
- Willingness to follow safeguarding procedures

Desirable:
- Youth work, education, coaching, mentoring, community delivery or events experience
- Safeguarding or first-aid training

What will you be doing?
- Lead and coordinate the School Edition delivery team during approved Portsmouth school activity
- Deliver or support structured youth engagement
- Brief and debrief facilitators and support volunteers
- Promote confidence, teamwork, creativity and inclusion
- Work professionally with teachers and school staff, respect school procedures, monitor engagement and escalate welfare or safeguarding concerns immediately
- Support setup, transitions, timekeeping and safe close-down, record agreed feedback and incidents through approved systems, and keep facilitators within their role boundaries
- Help the CEO and Project Manager plan delivery without making external commitments independently

This role may direct the field team during CEO-approved delivery. It cannot independently agree school dates, alter partnership terms, approve spending, make safeguarding decisions outside procedure or promise future activity. School staff retain their own responsibilities.

This is a direct child-facing role. Safer recruitment, references, safeguarding induction and the DBS check legally appropriate to final duties and frequency precede relevant activity. No school partnership, venue or delivery date is yet confirmed.
