Role description: Officer

At the Foundation of Light, we use the power of football to create better opportunities and better lives across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham. Through education, connection and wellbeing, we break down barriers, build confidence and help people reach their potential.

Our new strategy is bold, ambitious and community-focused, and we’re growing our team to make an even bigger impact. If you’re passionate about changing lives and want to be part of something that truly matters, join us.

Youth Engagement Officer

The Foundation of Light is seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to deliver as part of the Belonging and Social Connectivity team. The successful candidate will deliver intentional one-to-one mentoring sessions and targeted group interventions based on attendance, risky behaviours and physical/mental health barriers, across multiple programmes. They will liaise with the Community Cohesion Manager and project coordinators to develop engaging and unique programmes to be delivered in school and the community. They will support targeted programmes addressing careers and academic performance with pre-NEET young people, social isolation, inequality and community division.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
