Saints Foundation is the charity of Southampton Football Club. We support people in need throughout Southampton, providing life-changing opportunities to help our communities thrive.

What is the role?

We are looking for a Youth Engagement Officer to join our Premier League Kicks team. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 8 to 18 across Southampton through positive activities, mentoring and community engagement. Working in areas of high need, you will help build aspiration, improve wellbeing and create positive opportunities for young people who may be at risk of anti-social behaviour or youth violence.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about youth development and wants to make a meaningful difference in their local community.

What will you be doing?

As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will:

  • Lead and deliver engaging football sessions, workshops, mentoring projects and community based activities across Southampton.
  • Build positive relationships with young people, acting as a role model and helping them develop confidence, resilience and stronger connections within their communities.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Youth Engagement team to organise tournaments, events and development opportunities, while also supporting the monitoring and evaluation of programmes to demonstrate impact and meet funding objectives.
  • Collaborate with schools, community organisations and local partners to ensure activities meet the needs of participants and the wider community.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed and that young people receive the support they need to thrive.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
