Lewisham’s Integrated Adolescent Service is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Youth Justice Practitioner to join our ambitious and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with children involved in, or at risk of entering, the criminal justice system, supporting those affected by exploitation, trauma, extra-familial harm and other complex challenges.
What’s the role?
As a case-holding practitioner, you will undertake assessments, develop intervention and safety plans, manage risk and safeguarding concerns, coordinate multi-agency responses, and deliver evidence-based interventions that help children reduce offending, improve wellbeing and achieve positive outcomes. You will also contribute to court and panel processes through high-quality report writing, professional judgement and effective partnership working.
What’s in it for you?
Excellent training and development opportunities, plus a range of benefits including:
- Generous holiday allowance
- Local Government Pension scheme
- Flexible working and family friendly policies
- Season ticket and bicycle loans
- A range of staff discounts including local subsidised gym memberships
- Supportive staff networks
What we’re looking for
As a service, we are committed to TRACES practice – Trauma-informed, Relational, Anti-racist, Contextual, Equity-focused and Systemic. We value innovation, professional curiosity and relationship-based practice, ensuring children and families receive support that recognises their strengths, experiences and potential. You will join a supportive team that champions reflective practice, continuous professional development and collaborative working, giving you the opportunity to influence change, challenge inequality and make a genuine difference every day. If you are committed to empowering children, amplifying their voices and delivering high-quality youth justice practice that transforms lives, we would love to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
