This isn't just a job. It's a chance to change a young person's life.

We're looking for a compassionate, resilient and dependable Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, supporting children and young people who may have experienced trauma, instability, emotional difficulties or challenging circumstances.

It won't always be easy. But the moments that matter — earning a child's trust, celebrating their progress and helping them feel safe — make it incredibly rewarding.

What you'll be doing

You'll help create a safe, stable and nurturing home where young people can feel valued, supported and listened to.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
  • Building positive, trusting relationships
  • Providing emotional support and positive role modelling
  • Supporting routines, activities and everyday life
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Responding calmly to incidents, safeguarding concerns and emergencies
  • Completing welfare checks, records, reports and handovers
  • Following care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and organisational policies
  • Working alongside colleagues, families and external professionals
  • Helping maintain a safe, clean and welcoming home

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
