3 months Contract with a Local Authority
Umbrella - £21.19 per hour - Umbrella
Job Purpose
As a Youth Training Tutor, you will deliver engaging learning programmes that support young people aged 16-25 in developing their skills, confidence, qualifications, and employability. You will help learners progress into employment, apprenticeships, further education, or training through the delivery of vocational and personal development programmes.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging learning programmes.
- Plan learning activities and assessment processes with learners.
- Recruit learners onto training programmes.
- Deliver learner inductions and complete eligibility documentation.
- Deliver personal development workshops and employability activities.
- Support learners to achieve recognised qualifications.
- Monitor learner progress and programme outcomes.
- Conduct learner reviews and maintain accurate records.
- Build positive relationships with learners through one-to-one and group support.
- Motivate and encourage learners to achieve their goals and aspirations.
- Work closely with employers, training providers, support agencies, and partner organisations.
- Support progression into employment, apprenticeships, education, and training.
- Ensure contractual, compliance, quality, and performance targets are achieved.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety standards.
- Contribute to curriculum development and service improvement initiatives.

Essential Experience Required
- Experience delivering training, teaching, tutoring, or learning programmes.
- Experience working with young people aged 16-25.
- Experience supporting vulnerable or challenging learners.
- Experience developing learning materials and resources.
- Experience coordinating educational or training programmes.
- Experience working with multiple agencies, stakeholders, and partners.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Experience monitoring learner progress and outcomes.
- Experience supporting learners into employment, training, or further education.
- Excellent communication, engagement, and motivational skills.

Essential Qualifications Required
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
- PTLLS, IAG, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS.
Additional Information to Note
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Location: Godfrey Road, Newport, NP20 4UR.
- Experience working with vulnerable young people is essential.
- Enhanced DBS required.
- Supplier Submission Deadline: 2nd October 2026.
- We work on bi-weekly payment schedule.
