St Andrew’s seeks to appoint a youth minister with a heart for God and for young people, who can walk alongside and disciple our young people, supporting them to grow in spirituality and faith, and to develop their role as leaders in our church.
The successful applicant will work with our Vicar, Children and Families’ Minister and our volunteer teams, to develop a range of activities including our youth group and Sunday morning group. Applications are encouraged from both experienced and inexperienced candidates, with training available.

General Responsibilities

- Lead and develop youth groups – plan and lead our youth group (10–15s), contribute to Sunday morning provision, and explore appropriate provision for older young people (15–18s).
- Build relationships with young people and families – provide pastoral support and mentoring, maintain good communication with parents/carers, and help young people develop a sense of belonging within the wider church.
- Enable young people to participate and lead – encourage and equip young people to take an active role in worship and the wider life of St Andrew’s, and develop a team of youth ministry volunteers.
- Develop youth ministry beyond existing groups – work with the Vicar and Children & Families’ Minister to shape the wider vision for ministry with young people, including exploring opportunities for drop-in/detached youth work.
