We’re growing our team to help us take Good News relevantly to the young people of Burton and the surrounding areas and achieve our goal of seeing young people’s lives changed by Jesus.
Safeguarding is at the heart of all we do at Burton Youth For Christ. We’re looking for someone whose Christian faith motivates them to invest in the lives of children and young people, and who is committed to creating safe, positive and welcoming spaces where they can grow and flourish.
Position
Youth Worker – Schools Lead with Burton Youth For Christ in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire
Type of Contract
Part-time – 15 hours per week, primarily during term time between 8.00am and 4.00pm, including Monday mornings for team meetings. Holiday entitlement is 60 days, with an office shut down between Christmas and New Year. Fixed term for one year, with potential for increased hours subject to funding. Term-time-only arrangements can also be considered.

Salary Range
£12.71 - £15.00 an hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications. Pro rata: £24,454 - £28,860
Start Date
4th January 2027 onwards.

The closing date for applications is 31st October 2026.
Occupational Requirements
Please note that an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 applies to this role such that an applicant should be a committed Christian. This is because the role will involve the planning and prayerful delivery of Christian Youth Work. That will necessitate an extensive understanding of the teachings of the Bible to be able to deliver that work and to lead or assist in the delivery of mission.
In your role, you will be representing a Burton Youth For Christ view, making a Christian response and reflecting Christian values and lifestyle choices. You will be expected to sign, agree and adhere to our Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith documents.

Interview Dates
These will take place in early November. We want the interview to be a chance for us to get to know you, as well as for you to get a feel for Burton Youth For Christ and the role. It will include some questions and practical activities, with the opportunity to demonstrate how you communicate and connect with children and young people. You can expect to spend some time in a school setting and meet members of the Burton Youth For Christ team.
Please note the job will be subject to satisfactory references and Enhanced DBS procedures.
