Dizzy Heights supports the personal, social, physical, and emotional development of young people through informal educational opportunities and experiences. The organisation creates a safe and inclusive environment where young people can build confidence, resilience, and life skills. Programs are designed to empower youth to make positive choices and engage actively in their communities. Staff members work closely with young people to provide guidance, encouragement, and practical support. Role Description
Youth Workers and Mentors at Dizzy Heights provide direct support to young people through group sessions, one-to-one mentoring, and informal learning activities. In this full-time, on-site role based in Stoke-On-Trent and across Staffordshire, team members plan and deliver engaging programs that promote personal growth, social skills, and emotional well-being. The role involves:
- Collaborating with colleagues and external partners
- Maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all participants
Youth Workers and Mentors also help organise sessions, outreach activities, and feedback sessions to continuously improve services.
Qualifications
- Skills in Youth Work and Youth Services to plan, deliver, and evaluate youth-focused programs
- Skills in Youth Mentoring and Social Work to provide one-to-one support, advocacy, and guidance to young people
- Strong Communication skills to build rapport, facilitate group activities, and engage with parents, schools, and community partners
- Relevant experience working with young people in community, education, or voluntary settings is highly beneficial
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and creating safe, inclusive environments for young people is essential
- Ability to manage time effectively, maintain accurate documentation, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Qualifications in youth work, social work, education, or a related field (or equivalent experience) are an advantage
