BlobbyClips Writer Opportunity
BlobbyClips is one of YouTube's fastest growing channels, creating short 2D animations that generate billions of views each month. We publish at high volume, move quickly, and aim to make every video better than the last.
We're hiring multiple writers who understand internet humor, visual comedy, short-form storytelling, and what makes someone stop scrolling.
See the examples below. If you can write something like this, we'd love to see what you can do:
The Role
This is not a traditional screenwriting job. You'll come up with original concepts and turn the strongest ideas into tightly structured screenplays built specifically for YouTube Shorts.
- Generate strong, original ideas at high volume.
- Write complete short screenplays with dialogue and clear animation direction.
- Match the BlobbyClips voice while keeping premises and structures fresh.
- Deliver approximately 7 finished scripts per week.
- Apply feedback quickly and revise scripts when needed.
- Use internal examples and performance insights to continuously improve.
What We're Looking For
- A strong natural sense of comedy, storytelling, and internet culture.
- Excellent idea-generation skills.
- A strong understanding of hooks, pacing, escalation, and payoff.
- The ability to think visually, not just write dialogue.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Reliability, independence, and the ability to handle direct creative feedback.
- Experience with comedy writing, YouTube, animation, TikTok, Reels, or other short-form content is a plus, but not required. Your creative submissions matter far more than your resume.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Test Project & Hiring Process
Selected applicants will be invited to complete a writer test after their application is reviewed.
Application: Submit relevant work or experience, your availability, and 3 one-sentence BlobbyClips premises.
Unpaid test: Selected applicants write 2 original BlobbyClips-style screenplays. Test submissions are used strictly for evaluation and will not be commercially produced unless separately agreed upon.
Paid trial: The strongest applicants complete 5 scripts at $50 USD per script ($250 total) and receive additional writing resources.
Ongoing role: The strongest trial writers are offered an ongoing contract writing 7 scripts per week at $75 USD per approved script.
We are hiring multiple writers for the ongoing team.
The initial test has no hard deadline, but submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis, so sooner is better. We evaluate originality, idea quality, hooks, progression, visual storytelling, pacing, and payoff.
Why is the test unpaid?
Traditional writing portfolios rarely show whether someone can write specifically for this format. The two-script test is used strictly for evaluation, and strong applicants move into a paid trial before any ongoing hiring decision is made.
