Overview

A busy, welcoming family seeks a full-time, live-out housekeeper for a six-storey Kensington home. This is a Monday through Friday role, with a usual schedule of 9.30/10am-6.30/7pm daily. The role is available immediately, however, the family are keen to find the right fit and so won't rush into anything.

Responsibilities

  • All general cleaning, to include mopping, polishing, wiping, vacuuming, dusting etc
  • Daily cleaning of bathrooms
  • Maintaining high-use communal areas to a high standard
  • General household organisation and tidying (making beds, general maintenance of household spaces to a high standard)
  • Regular deep cleaning, including developing daily, weekly and monthly schedules
  • Laundry and ironing for the household
  • Regular changing of bedlinen and towels
  • Wardrobe management including seasonal switches
  • Ensure proper care of luxury finishes including stone, hardwood, custom cabinetry
  • Occasional supervision of contractors and vendors
  • Running errands and household-related shopping in person and online
  • Assisting with general household tasks as needed
  • Occasional meal preparation for the family if confident and happy to do so!

The ideal candidate is a career housekeeper with a real understanding of high-end households, a high level of attention to detail, and is able to work independently and with initiative:

  • Prior experience in a similar private household role
  • Knowledge of caring for high-end materials and clothing
  • Comfortable picking things up quickly and anticipating needs
  • A real sense of pride in a job well done, consistently ensuring elevated standards and a pristine, organised and welcoming environment
  • Organised, proactive, and highly detail-oriented personality with a meticulous approach
  • Accustomed to working in a family environment with children
  • Comfortable meeting very high standards around cleanliness, laundry care, and household order
  • Naturally organised and comfortable implementing systems
  • Warm, respectful, calm, and professional
  • Discreet, reliable and consistent, with excellent judgement and common sense
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to assist beyond core duties when required
  • Excellent communicator, fluent in English
  • Fit and active - there is no lift in the home and so the housekeeper will be going up and down stairs regularly and must be able to carry cleaning equipment between the different floors
