Job Description Summary
The Assistant Operational Controller Europe is responsible for supporting the Europe Operational Controller in controllership activities relating to GE HealthCare's (GEHC) operations, non-commercial processes and legal entities in the Europe Zone. The role supports financial reporting and monitoring, technical controllership guidance, US GAAP balance sheet integrity and operating mechanisms to identify, understand and manage non-commercial business risks. The Assistant Operational Controller will partner with Zone Finance, Operational teams, Local Country Teams (LCTs), Non-Commercial COE/BPO teams, Statutory and Tax teams, Treasury, HR Operations and Global Controllership to ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly US GAAP closing and reporting, compliance with GEHC policies, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and effective execution of operational controllership processes. The role reports to the Europe Operational Controller.
THIS ROLE IS OPEN IN ALL LOCATIONS IN EUROPE ZONE EVEN IF NOT INCLUDED IN THE ROLE POSTING LOCATION. NO RELOCATION REQUIRED.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Duties Include (but Are Not Limited To)
- Support the Europe Operational Controller on non-commercial, operational and technical controllership aspects of the business across the Europe Zone.
- Support legal entity management activities, including legal entity rationalization, ERP reduction initiatives, capital structure remediation and coordination of legal entity cash flow management with Treasury, Tax, Controllership and local finance teams.
- Support establishment, documentation and continuous improvement of Standard Work for operational and transactional processes impacting the financial statements, including closing, reporting and analysis.
- Support key non-commercial processes such as Logistics, Restructuring, Grants, Sales Incentive Compensation, Fleet, Dilapidation and other operational balance sheet areas.
- Assist in quarterly risk reviews with Global Markets Region Controller and Global Markets Region CFO, quarterly LCT balance sheet reviews and Financial Review Process (FRP) submissions with Global Controllership.
- Drive consistent execution of monthly and quarterly close procedures, including account reconciliations, reconciliation quality reviews, GEHC Data Request submissions, representation letters and adjusting entries.
- Perform financial analysis of non-commercial balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of balances, accurate financial reporting and effectiveness of business processes.
- Ensure non-commercial account reconciliations are completed accurately, supported by appropriate documentation and within GEHC corporate guidelines.
- Monitor internal controls in line with local statutory requirements, GEHC GAP, US GAAP and corporate policies; identify financial risks and opportunities and support timely remediation actions.
- Support compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements for non-commercial and operational controls, excluding commercial controls.
- Coordinate with GEHC Internal Audit and external auditors to support audit requests, issue remediation, corrective action plans and prevention of recurring control issues.
- Support simplification initiatives across the Europe Zone to reduce process complexity and enable local teams to focus on value-added analytical and strategic activities.
- Support GEHC initiatives, integration projects, IT finance projects, Digital Core Transformation and Global Markets region transformation projects related to non-commercial processes and systems.
- Partner with LCT Statutory and Tax Leaders to support efficient statutory and tax processes, audit planning, audit debriefs, audit fee management and process performance metrics.
- Partner with Payroll Tax Leaders and HR Operations to support efficient payroll tax audit processes and improvements to payroll tax operations.
- Prepare analyses, reports and presentations for Europe Operational Controller, Europe Zone Controller, Global Markets Controllership and other finance leadership stakeholders as required.

Qualifications
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field, with proven experience in accounting, controllership, audit or finance.
- Experience in multinational organizations with exposure to operational accounting, legal entity controllership, financial reporting, internal controls, statutory processes and US GAAP is preferred.
Desired Characteristics
- External Auditing Firm graduate, Big Four experience preferred
- Demonstrates strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition principles, local GAAP considerations and authoritative accounting literature.
- Experience supporting cross-functional projects, process improvements or standardization initiatives within operations or finance functions.
- Multi-country accounting, controllership or commercial finance experience preferred.
- Capable of building strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues across a matrix organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex accounting and business issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others.
- Clear thinking, problem-solving mindset and ability to quickly grasp new ideas, assess risks and propose workable solutions.

- Strong attention to detail, analytical capability and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle or other large ERP systems preferred; advanced Excel and financial analytics skills desirable.

Responsabilités principales
Les Responsabilités Comprennent Notamment
- Soutenir le Contrôleur Opérationnel Europe sur les aspects de contrôle financier non commerciaux, opérationnels et techniques au sein de la zone Europe.
- Participer à la gestion des entités juridiques, notamment les projets de rationalisation des entités, de réduction du nombre d'ERP, d'optimisation des structures de capital et la coordination de la gestion des flux de trésorerie avec les équipes Trésorerie, Fiscalité, Contrôle Financier et Finances locales.
- Contribuer à la mise en place, à la documentation et à l'amélioration continue des procédures standardisées (Standard Work) pour les processus opérationnels et transactionnels impactant les états financiers.
- Soutenir les principaux processus non commerciaux tels que la Logistique, la Restructuration, les Subventions, la Rémunération Variable des Ventes, la Gestion de Flotte, les obligations locatives et autres postes opérationnels du bilan.
- Participer aux revues trimestrielles des risques avec le Regional Controller et le CFO de Global Markets, aux revues trimestrielles des bilans des équipes locales ainsi qu'aux soumissions du Financial Review Process (FRP) auprès du Global Controllership.
- Contribuer à l'exécution cohérente des procédures de clôture mensuelles et trimestrielles, y compris les rapprochements de comptes, les revues qualité des rapprochements, les soumissions des Data Requests GEHC, les lettres de représentation et les écritures d'ajustement.
- Réaliser des analyses financières des comptes de bilan non commerciaux afin de garantir leur conformité, leur intégrité, l'exactitude du reporting financier et l'efficacité des processus opérationnels.
