About the Role
Flamingo Land is a popular theme park and zoo in North Yorkshire, and the zoo is a member of BIAZA, EAZA and WAZA. We are looking for a full-time zookeeper to join our team.
The successful candidate will be expected to work mainly with our fur seal collection in our newly developed area, as well as gaining experience in all areas of the zoo as required. For this role, paid experience is essential with not only pinnipeds but also the water system and treatment areas that are essential for the correct care and welfare of this species.

Responsibilities
- Participate in a range of activities which include research and environmental enrichment.
- Communicate well with our guests, including delivering public talks and general good customer service.
- Be enthusiastic, a good team player, and be able to use the correct chain of command.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in a biological or conservation subject.
- Minimum of 2 years of working with pinnipeds.
- A driver's license is essential due to the location of Flamingo Land.

Working Hours
Our keeping team works five days out of seven and this will include weekends and bank holidays in order to provide care for our animals on a rota basis. Working hours vary during the year between summer and winter.
Salary
The salary for this position is £28,116.00 with an annual holiday entitlement of 30 days.
