z/OS Mainframe Network Systems Programmer
Fully Remote within the UK
Join a technical team supporting a large-scale z/OS platform. You’ll work across core mainframe networking, security, and transmission technologies to keep critical systems connected and secure.
What you’ll do
- Support mainframe networking across z/OS communication subsystems
- Manage TCPIP ports and VTAM updates
- Maintain OSA adapters in a complex environment
- Implement AT-TLS rules and IPSEC policies
- Handle tracing and diagnostics for network issues
- Work with technical teams to ensure secure connectivity
- Participate in on-call cover when required

What you bring
- Experience with Connect:Direct or FTP
- Strong z/OS knowledge and networking fundamentals
- Understanding of network security including TLS, IPSEC and certificates
- Problem-solving skills and structured change management
- Ability to manage SNA and TCP/IP networks
- Familiarity with mainframe tools like NetMaster or Supersession
- Knowledge of System z hardware including OSA-Express
- Good communication and teamwork
- Awareness of Cisco networking
