As a Finance Business Partner, you will provide accurate and timely management accounts, forecasts, and budgets for the Corporate Overheads business units, working closely with cost centre holder directors to support effective decision‑making.
Your focus will be on delivering excellent service to internal stakeholders, ensuring all reporting timelines and key performance indicators are consistently met. You will also ensure full compliance with IFRS and group accounting policies, while actively seeking opportunities to improve core finance processes and maintain clear, up‑to‑date procedural documentation.
Requirements
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified or part qualified or studying towards
- Experience communicating with senior stakeholders within a company, ability to communicate Financial issues and advice to Non-Finance heads.
- Able to demonstrate tangible examples of value add to central business functions.
- Excel knowledge including lookups and pivot tables.
- Previous knowledge of working with an ERP/accounting system preferably Microsoft dynamics.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts and presentation of these to the heads of Corporate overhead departments, including variance analysis to budgets and forecasts.
- Challenging the cost centre owners to provide information when necessary. Making recommendations for areas of cost reduction.
- Completion of monthly accruals and prepayments combined with full supporting analysis and explanations.
- Production of monthly forecasts and producing Budget for each department that you are made responsible for.
- Completion of balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring any risks are identified and mitigated on a timely basis. Ensure robustness and completeness of financial records. To also encourage transparency with reporting to stakeholders.
- Support ongoing UK projects with monthly financial data, helping forecast future capitalisation costs and depreciation to assist project leaders.
- Identify ways to improve the quality and integrity of the data and processes, implement automation where feasible. Develop and improve procedures, adopting best practice for the industry and driving continuous process improvement.
- Add value to the central budget holders, becoming their “critical friend”. Provide expert insight ensuring both costs are controlled and supporting with initiatives to drive business value.
- Respond to questions asked by OCS staff and other parties. To prepare for year-end audit, to collate information, and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
- To provide collaborative support to Senior Finance management in their duties where required.
- Communicate regularly with colleagues through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and that morale remains high.
- Ensure that the OCS safety image is reflected positively through your actions and those of your colleagues.
- Ensure that personal H&S competence and skill level is maintained i.e. attended Managing Safety programme and other Company safety events.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
- Ensure that work activities are properly managed and supervised.
