Your role will involve a wide variety of activities that all aim to ensure the museums are well presented, safe and attractive for visitors.
Requirements
- Enjoy working with people
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Flexible approach to work practices
- Ability to lift and carry items
- Willingness to complete all necessary training
- Availability for out of hours key holding
- Previous work experience of basic maintenance, key holding, driving, gardening, painting, basic repairs and janitorial activities
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Must become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.
Responsibilities
- Use a tractor, forklift and van and other tools
- Undertake tasks such as setting up for events in all weathers
- Gardening
- Assisting with repairs
- Working with steam vehicles
