As a Relief Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life. Working across two sites in the Ilkeston area, no day will be the same. One day you could be working within our Supported living service and the next out and about in our Community Support.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- Basic knowledge of using digital equipment such as computers, laptops and tablets.
Responsibilities
- Supporting individuals within their homes to maintain a safe environment.
- Food preparation and cooking.
- Supporting with finances.
- Making and attending appointments.
- Supporting to build on life skills.
- Promoting independence.
- Building and maintaining relationships with family and friends.
- Social activities and many more person centred activities based on the individual you are supporting.
