Senior Level
The Senior Clinical Fellow will gain experience in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic (HPB) surgery, suitable for a senior trainee for a maximum of five months. The role involves managing pre and post-operative patients, with encouragement to publish and present findings at local and international HPB meetings. Fellows will receive hands-on training in modular HPB cases for both benign and malignant conditions, observe cross-site cases, and undertake a 1:18 on-call rota for emergency care.
Requirements
- Senior trainee level
- Experience in HPB surgery
- Willingness to participate in on-call rota
Responsibilities
- Manage pre and post-operative patients
- Publish and present findings at local and international HPB meetings
- Undertake modular HPB case training (benign and malignant conditions)
- Observe cross-site cases
- Support emergency care via a 1:18 on-call rota
- Provide senior cover for HPB patients
- Attend theatre and outpatient sessions
- Care for admitted General Surgical patients
- Commit to the acute general surgical rota (commensurate with experience)
- Carry out independent clinical work (clinics)
- Develop operative skills in robotic surgery
- Develop judgement in the care of HPB patients
