As a Site Engineer you'll be working within the Nuclear team, supporting them in delivering the redevelopment project at the Dockyard.
Requirements
- Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable – one or more of: BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship.
- Familiar in Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & Digital levels) for Setting Out & Survey
- Experience in similar role.
- BPSS level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
- Assist in providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
- Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
- Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks and checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
- Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work.

- Due to the nature of this role and the nature of the work at this site, you will be required to complete a Government Security Check (SC) Clearance , which takes place before your employment, and is conducted by the Cabinet Office's United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) agency who set out a pre-requisite criteria including residency history.
- This role will also be subject to further pre-employment checks.
