Last week we ran a competition to guess the top 5 busiest merchants on Just Eat.

Number 1 wasn’t hard - McDonald’s is by far the biggest and we estimate that this accounts for about 40% of Just Eat deliveries! (note that this doesn’t include Just Eat orders that are delivered by the restaurant). Unsurprisingly 98% of guesses correctly identified McDonald’s.

Most people also got KFC at number 2 - they have seen a bump in their Just Eat orders since breaking up with Deliveroo last year.

After that things got trickier… Greggs is very busy in the morning but less so later in the day; Subway tends to be more of a lunchtime option and Co-Op is a relative newcomber that has climbed the rankings.

Lots of people put Burger King in their Top 5 - we think it is actually 6th.

Only two people guessed the correct 5 names.

Things are changing fast on all the platforms. For example there are now 4 grocery stores in the top 10 (in 2023 this was 3 and in 2022 just 1). This is imporant for drivers as it affects our decisions about when and where to work.
