Summer is not a good time to be a delivery driver. While cycling around in the sun might be lovely there are fewer orders and more drivers meaning only one thing - lower earnings.

This chart shows how many orders a driver does on average on each day when they are working by month of the year.

🤑 Busiest month: December

🪹 Slowest month: June

Fees are also lower on average, meaning that overall earnings suffers from a double whammy: there are less jobs and each job pays less.

This chart shows how much full time (active at least 18 days per month) drivers earn on average each month and the average earnings for the highest earning driver group (95th percentile).

The good news is that as the days get shorter and the weather worse, there will be more orders and fewer drivers. This should mean that drivers are busier and earnings are higher.
