1:1 Teaching Assistant – High Needs & EHCP Support
Peakirk-cum-Glinton Primary Academy
Are you a compassionate and committed individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with high needs and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
About The Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s life by providing personalised, inclusive 1:1 support within our nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with complex needs, aligned with their EHCP
- Foster learning, communication, and social development in collaboration with the classroom team
- Work closely with:
- Class teacher
- SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
- External professionals
- Contribute to a nurturing and structured learning environment
- Support open communication between school and families

Working Pattern
- Full-time (32.5 hours/week, 08:30 am to 3:30 pm)
- Job share opportunities considered – applicants must specify preferred working days in their application.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a compassionate, patient, and adaptable professional who:
- Has prior experience supporting children with SEND, particularly those with:
- High needs
- Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Demonstrates:
- Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
- Teamwork & independent problem-solving
- Commitment to inclusion and celebrating diversity
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
- Experience with the Early Years curriculum (Pre-School to Year 1) and flexibility to support Year 1-6 as needed
