1-2-1, SEND Teaching Assistant.

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants – Additional Needs to join our team. This role involves working under the guidance of teachers to support pupils who require additional help to overcome barriers to learning. You will play a key part in ensuring every child can thrive academically and socially. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to children’s learning and development within our supportive school community, part of Codsall Multi Academy Trust.

The Role at a Glance

  • Position: 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant – KS2/3
  • Location: Codsall Middle School
  • Salary Grade: 4, Point 5: £25,989 (FTE)
  • Hourly rate: £13.47 Per Hour
  • Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Term Time only including Teacher training days
  • Contract: Please contact school to discuss Contract terms.
  • Start Date: ASAP

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and attend to pupils’ personal needs, promoting social, health, and hygiene development.
  • Support pupils with additional needs through 1:1 mentoring and tailored interventions.
  • Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education and Behaviour Plans.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and attendance.
  • Support pupils’ access to learning using appropriate strategies and resources.
  • Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals to foster strong home-school links.
  • Always promote and safeguard the welfare of children.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience supporting children’s learning in an educational setting
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent experience)
  • Understanding of SEN and relevant policies/codes of practice
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and use initiative.
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning.
  • Friendly, professional, and respectful approach.
  • Open, honest, and committed to pupil welfare.
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic, and proactive with a “can-do” attitude
