1 to 1 Teaching Assistant

1:1 Teaching Assistant – KS1 (Full-Time – ASAP Start, BS9, Bristol)

A lovely Primary School in the BS9 area of Bristol is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work as a 1:1 support in Year 2.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate seeking full-time work within a supportive, community-focused school that valuesa passionate commitment to professional development and strong support for vulnerable families.


About the Role

This position will start ASAP within a North Bristol Primary School. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 teaching assistance to an SEN student in their Year 2 class.

The Head Teacher seeks an individual who can create a calm, nurturing, and safe learning environment, ensuring the child feels secure and comfortable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing strong, positive behaviour management strategies
  • Collaborating closely with the Class Teacher, maintaining open communication
  • Having previously worked with SEND children (preferred but not essential)
  • Being adaptable to the child’s individual learning needs and environment
  • Tracking and reporting on personal and learning development, including observations
