Overview

Fuel student success—as well as your own career growth—by supporting students according to their individualized education plan (IEP). Bring creativity, resilience, and passion to help students develop essential behavioral strategies and life skills. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a vital role in providing holistic guidance and tailored support.


Responsibilities

Collaborate with students from diverse backgrounds (developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, socioeconomic) in a dynamic learning environment.

  • Work one-on-one with assigned students to achieve IEP goals, providing necessary accommodations and modifications
  • Develop and modify behavior support plans in conjunction with team members
  • Implement behavior plans, tracking data on behaviors, progress, and incidents
  • Apply PBIS strategies and evidence-based behavior intervention techniques
  • Perform de-escalation techniques and crisis management (including physical restraint if required)
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment encouraging appropriate social and behavioral growth
  • Supervise students at all times, including transportation and transfers to/from school
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure plan consistency
  • Provide personal care support as needed based on each student’s requirements
  • Effectively communicate with parents to ensure aligned support

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Preferred: Background in educational settings implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs

Starting Salary Range: USD $28,850.00/year


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to run short distances and respond swiftly; required to bend, kneel, or crouch
  • Capacity to lift up to 50+ lbs while assisting students with mobility challenges
  • Fine motor skill proficiency for activities like helping with writing or adaptive devices
  • Computer/tablet use for up to 8 hours daily (keyboards, software, etc.)
  • Compose reputation for remaining calm and composed under emotionally and physically demanding circumstances
  • Enthusiasm for student safety and emotional well-being
