1:1 Autism Support Assistant – City of Westminster – September 2026

Are you a patient and resilient 1:1 Autism Support Assistant looking to support a non-verbal autistic pupil in the City of Westminster? This welcoming Roman Catholic school, close to the heart of West London, is seeking a committed 1:1 Autism Support Assistant for September 2026.


1:1 Autism Support Assistant role paying £12.71 per hour + holiday pay

  • Full-time, term-time only contract from September 2026
  • Future teacher training may be available for the right 1:1 Autism Support Assistant
  • Join a small Catholic school with around 250 pupils and a strong community feel
  • Work in a school where around 36% of pupils receive SEN support
  • Support an autistic pupil who is non-verbal, active and requires regular movement breaks
  • The pupil can run, so this 1:1 Autism Support Assistant role requires someone alert, calm and physically active
  • Ideal for an aspiring Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Teacher or SEN professional
  • The successful 1:1 Autism Support Assistant must be humble, reliable and comfortable supporting closely throughout the day
  • Prior experience with autism, non-verbal pupils, PECS, Makaton or behaviour support would be useful
  • This 1:1 Autism Support Assistant role requires strong communication, patience and a team-first approach
  • School data includes 64% of pupils meeting the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths
