11 SEN Teaching Assistant

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Worksop

Academics, acting as an agency, are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a flexible, temporary ongoing basis within welcoming mainstream primary schools across Worksop.

This role focuses on providing individualized support to a pupil with additional needs within a mainstream classroom setting, ensuring they can access learning alongside their peers in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Mainstream Primary)

Location: Worksop, Nottinghamshire

Contract: Flexible working pattern, temporary ongoing

Pay: £92.56 - £95 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)

Start Date: ASAP or a start date that suits you

About the Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in a mainstream primary school, you will work closely with a named pupil who requires additional support due to special educational needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication difficulties.

You will provide consistent one-to-one support within the classroom, helping the child to access the curriculum, regulate emotions, develop social skills, and build confidence whilst remaining integrated within the wider class.

This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education within mainstream settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support within a mainstream classroom environment.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
  • Implement and support EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Encourage independence whilst offering appropriate guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs and parents.
  • Maintain safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with SEN within mainstream schools.
  • Understanding of autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs.
  • Calm, nurturing and consistent approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
