Quantum Scholars is looking for a supportive and experienced SEN Tutor to provide one-to-one tuition for a secondary-aged child in Minehead, Somerset.
This is an in-person, home-based role, delivering 11 hours of tuition per week in core subjects at the child’s home. This is not online work. The tutor will provide tailored academic support that reflects the child’s individual needs, confidence levels and learning goals.
The role may involve
- Delivering one-to-one tuition in core subjects, including English, maths and science
- Planning engaging and accessible lessons for a secondary-aged learner
- Adapting teaching approaches and resources to meet the child’s SEN needs
- Supporting academic progress, confidence and engagement with learning
- Building a positive and consistent working relationship with the child
- Monitoring progress and providing clear feedback where required
- Working professionally with parents, carers and other relevant professionals

Essential Requirements
- Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged children
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Strong knowledge of core secondary subjects
- The ability to plan and deliver personalised one-to-one learning
- A patient, reliable and supportive approach
- The ability to travel to the child’s home in Minehead, Somerset
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
- Satisfactory professional references
- You must have the right to work in the UK.
