Job Summary
Join our dynamic Global Markets Division in the heart of London's Capital Markets trading room. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to deepen their understanding of the Credit business, encompassing both Secondary and Primary Business operations. The role involves assisting the Credit Trading Business Manager in implementing strategies, monitoring IT projects, ensuring compliance and enhancing procedures/practices within a fast-paced environment that operates across global time zones. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools, and a keen interest in financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Product Line strategy and IT projects
- Serve as the first line of defense to ensure activities comply with both external and internal regulations
- Support the production of trading and sales management reports
- Handle day-to-day queries from various business functions including IT, Compliance, Risk, Finance, etc., and engage with Credit chain stakeholders like DCM, Syndicate, and Sales
- Perform daily and weekly Credit P&L production and related commercial analyses
- Respond to enquiries from GMD Operational Risk, RPC Permanent Control, and Audit, conducting investigations as needed
- Review, update, maintain, and implement Credit Trading policies and procedures
- Enhance setup and processes through automation and improvements of spreadsheets and other documents
- Prepare various analyses, business plans, and governance presentations for different Credit stakeholders
- Assist in ongoing projects and the implementation of key projects for the desk

Candidate Criteria
Minimal Education Level
Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent
Academic Qualification / Speciality
Graduated within the past 18 months with a minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent
Experience
Previous internship experience in a financial institution is desirable
Required Skills
- Excellent organisational skills, ability to handle heavy workloads with precision and diligence
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the capacity to work under stress
- Knowledge of technical aspects of capital markets products and activities
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in Excel required
- Knowledge of Python or coding desirable
