Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and analytical intern to support the Cross Currency & G8 Rates Trading desk in London. This role is crucial in assisting the team responsible for Non-Euro Rates Products including Government Bonds, Cross Currency, Interest Rate Swaps, and FX markets. The internship offers a broad scope of experience in trading, pricing methodologies, hedging, and regulatory environments. Strong skills in Excel and VBA are essential for this role, along with a keen analytical mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the trading desk by producing essential reports such as PNL, FX exposure, funding, brokerage fees, and risk assessments
- Contribute to the delivery of commercial contributions and activity metrics
- Develop and enhance spreadsheets and tools used by the trading team
- Collect and analyse information on desk funding requirements and procedures
- Provide explanations and indicators related to PNL
- Participate in system upgrades including the identification of development needs, testing, and validation
- Report informally on specific business-related issues to Traders and/or the Global Head of Cross Currency & G8 Rates

Candidate Criteria
Minimal Education Level
Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent
Academic Qualification / Speciality
- Graduated within the past 18 months with a minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related numerate discipline
Experience
- Basic understanding of macroeconomics, rates, and FX markets
Required Skills
- Knowledge of database programming and macro-economic concepts is desirable
- Ability to handle complex trades with minimal supervision and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent planning, organisation, and deadline adherence skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong numerical and analytical capabilities
Technical Skills Required
- Strong skills in Excel and VBA
