Location

Crawley depot – within travel from Croydon, Guildford, Maidstone, Hastings, Bognor, Chichester, Woking, Camberley

Salary

General Working Hours

40–48 hours per week Shifts include daytime, evenings, nights, weekends, seasonal work away, plus on-call rotation (especially for van access).

Your Role as 12d Traffic Management Operative

Ensure safety by:

  • Performing traffic counts (data collection & client communication)
  • Maintaining temporary traffic lights
  • Deploying/managing equipment, including:
    • Cones
    • Signs & frames
    • Sandbags
    • Other essential safety measures
  • Mentoring new trainees in ACPO-friendly methods

Requirements

Essential criteria for this 12d Traffic Management Operative role:

  • Qualifications: Minimum M1/M2 (or SLG Unit 2—considered equivalent)
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Competency with Chapter 8 guidelines
  • Drive Credentials:
    • Full UK driving licence
    • Max 6 points (no surcharge impact)
    • If registered as excessive points offender, prohibition period must be expired for ≥5 years
  • Testing:
    • Pass required medicals (drug & alcohol tests)
  • Attitude being positive, solution-focused
