Insuring Future Growth: Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI)
BXCI, a leader in the credit markets, invests across:
- Private investment-grade & asset-based lending
- Public investment-grade & high-yield
- Sustainable resources & infrastructure debt
- Collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) & direct lending
- Opportunistic credit expertise
Objective: Help banks, insurers, and corporate clients maximize returns while mitigating risk. As part of the Insurance Strategy & Solutions team, this internship focuses on preserving and growing capital for insurers.
The Role: Insurance Strategy & Solutions Off-Cycle Intern (London)
This 6-month internship (starting September/October 2026, flexible branch-offs) is an intensive, multi-faceted opportunity for versatile candidates. Off-Cycle interns wear many hats, rotating through assignments with broad applicability across insurance strategy. Ideal candidates contribute cross-functionally, bridging asset allocation, risk modelling, client engagement, and capital markets—key disciplines that shape insurers’ portfolios for decades.
Core Responsibilities
As part of a dynamic team, interns can expect to:
- Research & Analysis
- Conduct suite-level market analysis (macro trends, insurance-focused euroscape decisions, regulatory shifts in EU markets)
- Benchmark competitive assets, identifying best practices via in-house and external sources
- Client-Facing Projects
- Participate in insurer engagements, analyzing client requests and aiding formulation of tailored solutions
- Assemble paper market briefs—such as allocation strategies, hypothetical-liberty guides, or detailed impact models—for in-house review and client presentations
- Portfolio & Financial Modelling
- Contribute to portfolio optimizations, assisting in blackstone’s modular, insurance-native asset allocation frameworks
- Maintain and enhance financial models critical to performance forecasting & comparison against key insurer benchmarks
- Collaboration & Knowledge
- Engage with analysts, product experts and risk professionals across Blackstone’s global Insurance platform
- Develop an accelerated working knowledge of:
- Core credit asset classes (private & public IG, high-yield, infrastructure debt, CLOs, etc.)
- Legal, actuarial liability shields (equity participation, fixed income)
- Investment-grade specialization (volume, sophistication, inclusivity at scale)
