I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

As we generally operate in small teams, interns will play an active role from Day 1 and work directly with a senior Capstone sponsor. The role is designed as a force-multiplier model: the intern brings technical depth, experimentation capacity, and structured follow-through, while the sponsor provides business context, prioritisation, and access to both the Capstone team and relevant portfolio AI workstreams.
The internship will also provide a great opportunity to liaise with teams across KKR, Capstone colleagues, AI taskforce participants and, where appropriate, selected portfolio company stakeholders, while developing a practical understanding of how AI can be applied in a private equity value creation context.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain reusable AI prompts, skills and workflow playbooks for Capstone and portfolio-related use cases
- Support internal AI enablement through workshops, practical demos and 1:1 coaching for Capstone colleagues
- Help coordinate the EMEA AI taskforce and portfolio AI value creation work, including preparing materials, tracking actions, and synthesising use cases, vendor/tool learnings and adoption examples
- Turn learnings from Capstone and portfolio work into reusable assets, playbooks, case studies and templates for internal discussions and broader sharing
