2026 DMFI Software Engineer Summer Internship

Software Engineering Summer Intern – DMFI Technology

Location: London, UK

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly exceptional software engineering intern to join our DMFI Technology team at Schonfeld’s London office. The DMFI Technology team builds tailored solutions—including live and historical market data pipelines, quant analytics, and self-serve P&L/risk tools—delivered via Excel, APIs, and web applications. Our goal is to empower our investment teams with the data and infrastructure they need to turn ideas into data-driven, alpha-generating trades.

What You’ll Do

As a summer intern, you’ll collaborate with senior developers to build software that integrates with our analytics library and powers critical market-data pipelines, enabling Portfolio Managers to make informed trade decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with live ticking market data from multiple providers and ensure Data is delivered within milliseconds for real-time trading
  • Develop efficient time-series historical datasets for high-speed trading analysis
  • Optimise the entire data lifecycle—ingest → clean → store → analyse → deliver
  • Contribute to P&L and risk data pipelines, providing real-time and historical exposures for PMs
  • Own an end-to-end analytics project that will be deployed to production and used by the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
