About the Roles
We are seeking Civil Engineering graduates for our specialised teams who are adaptable and eager to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory consultancy. Roles include:
Local Government, Highways (Norfolk)
WSP provides professional services to Norfolk County Council, including highways and infrastructure planning, design, and maintenance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in planning, designing, and drafting highway improvements and maintenance schemes
- Conducting on-site inspections and evaluations to inform design and maintenance decisions
- Preparing technical documentation, compliance reports, and project tracking materials
Bridges (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Carlisle, Exeter)
Work with experienced teams across structural inspection, assessment, design, strengthening, repair, and project management while gaining hands-on experience on major works.
Daily activities include:
- Conducting bridge inspections (using pontoons, gantries, elevated platforms, and confined space techniques)
- Organising site visits and structural design/assessment
- Asset management, repair design, and contract supervision
- Project management and business development

Roads (Truro, Basingstoke, Guildford)
WSP’s Roads and Highways expertise drives sustainable transport solutions for tomorrow’s infrastructure.
Graduate activities include:
- Designing and drafting transport schemes (active travel, rail interfaces, major/local authority projects)
- Conducting site visits and data analysis
- Ensuring health and safety compliance
- Supporting security monitoring across UK/Irish projects
Graduate Development Programme
Our two-year Graduate Development Programme supports personal and professional growth through: ✅ Skills training, career workshops, and mentorship ✅ On-the-job experience in collaborative projects ✅ Chartered status support (ICE/IStructE registration)
Requirements
To qualify, you must:
- Hold a minimum 2:2 degree (master’s or bachelor’s) in civil engineering or related fields Note: Bridges roles require a master’s degree only.
- Showcase these qualities:
