Job Description

Headquartered in New York, Guggenheim offers a premier Investment Banking advisory practice to clients from offices across New York, London, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Houston.

Our internship program is designed for students and recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in Investment Banking and who are looking to experience working in a dynamic Investment Banking advisory team. Established in April 2023, the inaugural European Guggenheim office offers a unique entrepreneurial opportunity in the Investment Banking industry.

Our London based Financial Sponsors Group (FSG) is a key part of GS’ Global FSG practice and leads the coverage and execution of transactions for private equity clients in the UK and Europe.

Interns are important members of our deal teams and work as a junior analyst on a variety of interesting strategic advisory, M&A and financing-related transactions and assignments. You will have meaningful exposure to senior bankers and client representatives as well as the ability to create meaningful relationships with junior bankers within the firm globally.

Candidates should be top performers who are willing to work hard in an entrepreneurial banking environment where initiative, creativity, maturity and enthusiasm for learning are very highly valued. Genuine interest in the Financial Sponsors sector and excitement to join a fast-growing, dynamic, and entrepreneurial team is a plus.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
