About Itero
We are a recycling technology company working on solutions for a circular future for plastics. Our proprietary technology is a process for chemical recycling, a growing and innovative industry that offers new solutions for the plastics and differs from traditional methods of recycling plastics. Chemical recycling, sometimes also called advanced recycling, converts otherwise non-recyclable plastic waste into resources for producing virgin-quality plastic products. Alongside our R&D pilot plant near Heathrow, we are developing our Demonstration Plant in the Netherlands, which will be capable of processing up to 27,000 tonnes per year of mixed plastic waste.
Our cleantech solutions are powered by a group of ambitious and innovative thinkers, with a shared passion for tackling the most pressing environmental issues. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team in the sustainability sector. This role would suit a self-starter with a passion for clean technology and the circular economy.
About The Role
This role is intended for university-level students (moving into their 3rd/4th year of studies) and recent graduates, and will run during the period July-September 2026 for a minimum of 8 weeks. You must be able to regularly attend our London offices in-person during this time.
We are looking for an exceptional and passionate intern to join our team and work on process equipment design and simulation projects. We approach internships as a mutual exchange of professional knowledge and skills. We build our internships around specific projects as well as fixed periods, in this case, summer internships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
