Head of Supply Chain (UK) – Help Build Europe’s Hypersonic Capability
About the Role
At Hypersonica, we’re transforming European defence technology with speed, resilience, and unparalleled expertise. As a small, elite team tackling critical aerospace challenges, we move fast—not constrained by traditional structures or rigid expectations. This role is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to shape supply chain strategies from the ground up, operating autonomously in a high-consequence, high-impact environment.
We prioritise talent above all else. If you’ve exceeded impossible expectations or carved your own unique path beyond conventional job descriptions, we’d love to hear from you. By joining us, you’ll directly contribute to Europe’s technological sovereignty while working on problems that define the future of defence.
What You’ll Do
Be the foundational pillar of Hypersonica’s UK supply chain, establishing a secure, resilient, and execution-driven procurement function for complex aerospace hardware. Key responsibilities include:
-
Building a UK supply chain capability from first principles
- Design and own the end-to-end procurement process for critical aerospace and defence systems, ensuring alignment with defence acquisition standards and future AS9100 certification.
-
Sourcing and contracting for long-lead, regulated subsystems
- Lead procurement of propulsion, flight-critical electronics, advanced materials, and military-grade avionics, while negotiating schedules and managing constraints under UK national security frameworks.
-
Managing supplier relationships
- Develop, audit, and qualify a trusted supplier network across advanced manufacturing, precision fabrication, and specialist military partners—balancing cost, compliance, and speed in a contested market.
-
Structuring compliant commercial agreements
- Negotiate contracts that address export controls, security risks, and export considerations, ensuring fairness, resilience, and alignment with UK defence acquisition rules.
-
Operationalising supplier risk and performance frameworks
- Implement robust supplier onboarding, performance tracking, and audit systems to meet aerospace quality standards, with an eye toward long-term scalability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
