Nurse Administrator/Coordinator (Waiting List Management) – NHS Scotland

About the Role

Hours: Mon–Fri, 09:00–15:30 (Part-time post)

Key Responsibilities---

In collaboration with the Senior Charge Nurse, you will play a critical role in the management of the Day Hospital waiting list, ensuring adherence to national and local targets set by the Scottish Government. Core duties include:

  • Ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient booking of patients for the specialty;
  • Managing referrals to clinics to create additional capacity in line with *agreed protocols;
  • Performing prompt and accurate data entry of patient details onto the *Trak waiting list system;
  • Scheduling patient appointments to *maximise clinic utilisation;
  • Confirming appointment bookings to *reduce DNA (dno-show) rates.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Experience working within NHSScotland waiting list systems (e.g., Trak).
  • Ability to operate within authorised protocols and maintain strict confidentiality standards.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with clinical teams, patients, and external healthcare providers.

Compliance & Obligations

  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a valid PVG Scheme membership/record (e.g., Adult or Child regulatory group, depending on post).

Future Considerations
