Senior Psychologist – Edinburgh Psychological Therapies Service

About the Role

We are delighted to invite applications for this opportunity to work within the Edinburgh Psychological Therapies Service. We are seeking enthusiastic and committed Senior Psychologists to support the further development of psychological services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied and diverse clinical caseload, providing interventions across the spectrum of psychological and mental health difficulties.
  • Provide individual and group supervision to other psychologists within the service, as well as line management responsibilities.
  • Play a key role in reducing service wait times and improving accessibility to psychological therapies.
  • Contribute to service development, including the creation and refinement of treatment pathways, particularly for individuals with complex needs.
  • Engage in training and continuous professional development (CPD) as part of a broader, whole-service CPD framework.
  • Act as a team champion in areas of special interest to support the professional growth of colleagues.
  • Liaise with senior roles across AMH services to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as a part of a wider team contributing to the expansion of psychology services, with links to broader mental health service providers within Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP).

Working Arrangements

  • Primary location: Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Morningside, Edinburgh.
  • Hybrid working model available for both clinical and administrative work, with flexibility to be discussed further at interview.
  • This position is part-time, with the salary adjusted accordingly.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Must hold (or be eligible for) a Relevant Postgraduate Qualification at Doctorate level in Clinical or Counselling Psychology as a minimum requirement.
  • Eligible for HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration.
  • Experience in senior-level psychological intervention within a public health setting is highly beneficial.
