About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious Procurement professional to join our Estates & Facilities Procurement team based in Edinburgh, as an Assistant Procurement Manager.
This role offers an ex عظيم opportunity to work in public procurement, contributing to NHS Scotland—one of the UK’s largest and most complex healthcare providers, serving almost 1 million people in Edinburgh and the Lothians. You will use your procurement expertise to:
- Support the Procurement Manager in embedding a category management approach to spending.
- Analyse data to identify value-saving opportunities and improve financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Partner with cross-organisational colleagues (including finance teams) to develop procurement solutions prioritising patient care and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with other NHS Boards and National Procurement to deliver regional/national procurement strategies.
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes, including:
- Sourcing & supplier evaluation
- Contract selection
- Monitor supplier performance, enforcing compliance and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Optimise supply chain efficiencies through strategic supplier relationships across the entire contract lifecycle.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum qualification: A commerce-related degree (e.g., business studies) or a recognised procurement qualification, such as:
- CIPS Level 4
- NVQ Level 3 in Procurement/Supply Chain Management
- 4+ years’ experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of:
- Procurement principles
- Public sector best practices
