At Support Services, we deliver Domestic, Portering, and Linen Services within wards and departments across healthcare and other designated properties, whilst contributing to the delivery of patient care in line with Quality Improvement Scotland recommendations.
You will have the opportunity to work across various departments, interacting with both staff and patients, contributing to providing a clean and safe environment for everyone. This is an excellent starting point for expanding your knowledge and building a career within NHS D&G.

Tracey McKean, one of our Support Services Managers, shares her career journey:
"I started as a back shift Domestic Assistant at the old DGRI and worked as a chamber maid at a local hotel.
I was promoted to Night Duty Manager, resigned from my Domestic Back shift.
I really missed the people and the department.
In 2002, I saw an advert for an NHS Hotel Services Supervisor.
I now had the skills and experience required for this post and relished the thought of being back home at the old DGRI.
I worked as a Support Services Supervisor for 20 years. I love being a Supervisor working with Staff and patients based in DGRI.
In 2022, a Support Services Managers post was advertised. I was comfortable in my Supervisory role, it was daunting applying but I was ready for a new challenge.
I am immensely proud of the part I now play in managing our recruitment process. Our staff are our most important resource."

Assessment Form:
Within the application, you are required to answer three questions, giving you the opportunity to fully evidence why you are the ideal person for the job. Please ensure these statements are written by yourself and are unique to you. This section times out after 30 minutes.
