SPEECH LANGUAGE THERAPY SERVICE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
- Band 7 (FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS)
- 0.5 WTE / 18 hours
Applications are invited from suitably qualified speech and language therapists to join the East and Midlothian CYP SLT team working in the clinical area of complex additional support needs. This post is based in East Lothian and will involve working across a range of settings, including specialist Education provisions, clinics, mainstream schools and Early Years centres, and domiciliary visits.

Key Requirements:
- Significant experience of working in this clinical area.
- A postgraduate qualification in assessment and management of eating, drinking & swallowing disorders.
Role Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the local team and other professionals in the multidisciplinary team to support children, young people and their families.
- Take a leading role with senior colleagues in delivering on service developments relating to their area of clinical expertise.

- It is committed to the principles of improvement methodology to provide a high-quality service focused on the child and family’s needs.
- All staff have a personal development plan and are encouraged to extend their skills through a variety of CPD activities.
Registration:
- Applicants must be registered with HCPC.
Employment Details:
- This is a fixed term post for one year in the first instance.
- As this post is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
