2nd Line Risk Partner – HR, Legal, Claims & Fraud

Location: Travel to Manchester and Brentwood required when needed.

Tradex Insurance is seeking an experienced 2nd Line Risk Partner to provide expert oversight across People, Legal, Claims, and Fraud Risk. This is a highly influential role, supporting and strengthening risk frameworks, driving robust governance, and delivering insightful challenge across core business functions.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing clarity on emerging risks, the effectiveness of controls, and opportunities to strengthen resilience across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain People, Legal, Claims, and Fraud risk frameworks, policies, appetites, metrics, and RCSAs.
  • Ensure frameworks meet regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Provide independent review and challenge of risk events, exceptions, and remediation.
  • Challenge first-line control effectiveness, risk responses, and remediation progress.
  • Oversee claims and fraud risk processes, including detection, prevention, investigation, and reporting.
  • Monitor emerging fraud trends and recommend proactive mitigation.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders, first-line teams, and outsourced partners.
  • Present clear risk insights to committees, regulators, and operational teams.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and a strong risk culture.
  • Provide written 2nd line assurance on relevant initiatives.
  • Support the CRO with high-quality risk reporting.

  • Experience across People, Legal, Claims, and Fraud Risk within general insurance or a regulated environment.
  • Deep knowledge of FCA/PRA regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and challenge capability at senior levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex issues simply.
  • Proven experience improving risk frameworks and governance in large, multi-functional environments.
  • The ability to build strong networks and influence decisions across the organisation.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
