Role: Technical SME – Mobiles & Specialty Devices
Contract Type: 12 month FTC
Security Clearance: Active SC required
Overview
We are seeking a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join the Mobiles & Specialty Devices team. This role will support the HHU (Smart Meter Field Engineers) service, along with Phones and Mac devices, forming part of a wider technical delivery team within a major user devices programme.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and securing mobile and endpoint devices, delivering technical solutions, and supporting enterprise-scale environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Android, iOS, iPadOS, and macOS devices using Microsoft Intune
- Manage AR/VR devices using Meta Quest for Business
- Configure and maintain MDM and MAM policies to ensure device security
- Implement and maintain Microsoft Azure tenant-level configurations (including Intune)
- Package, deploy, and publish applications (including macOS applications)
- Conduct vulnerability remediation across Macs and enrolled devices
- Manage application permissions, policies, and reporting through scripting
- Support user and group assignments within enterprise environments
- Work within Agile/JIRA frameworks to deliver technical solutions
- Provide L2 support and technical expertise across device estate

Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Microsoft Intune (management and compliance policies)
- User and application management within enterprise environments
- macOS application packaging and deployment
- Scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python)
- Knowledge of Azure Active Directory / Active Directory Federation Services
- Experience with:
- Meta Quest for Business
- Apple Business Manager
- Google Zero Touch
- Broad expertise across:
- Android
- iOS / iPadOS
- macOS

Certifications (or Equivalent Experience)
- MD-102: Endpoint Administrator
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
- Equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered
Additional Requirements
- Security Clearance: SC required
- Experience Level: 4+ years in relevant technical roles
- Support Level: L2
- Based in the UK with remote working
- Willingness to travel occasionally (1–2 times per quarter to Gloucester Business Park or other sites)
- No on-call requirement
