Part Time Food & Beverage Supervisor – Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Part Time Food & Beverage Supervisor (32 hours per week, including weekends) to join the One Square Team at Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, one of Scotland’s leading 5-star hotels with 269 bedrooms, award-winning banqueting facilities (capacity: 500), and One Spa™—one of Europe’s premier advanced city spas.
The hotel’s signature location in Edinburgh’s financial and tourist hub also hosts One Square, Edinburgh’s most popular gin bar.
As the Food & Beverage Supervisor, you’ll:
- Guide the One Square Bar team towards achieving strategic departmental goals, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Rotate across all shifts to ensure a multi-skilled, productive team and direct day-to-day operations.
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members while maintaining relentless 5-star standards.
Key Responsibilities

Guest Service Excellence
- Proactively meet, exceed, and maintain guest expectations through professional, prompt, and confident service.
- Build an empowered team environment by providing support, guidance, and leadership to Servers.

Daily Operations & Leadership
- Oversee seamless operations in bar/restaurant spaces, ensuring high service efficiency and adherence to Brand Standards.
- Liaise with cross-departmental teams for consistent service delivery.
- Monitor implementation of internal SOPs and Marriott Global Brand Standards.
- Allocate and manage team tasks to maximise productivity and align with operational goals.

Training & Performance Development
- Mentor new staff, with the potential to develop Mid-Shift Supervisors.
- Conduct coaching, counselling, and disciplinary measures when necessary, ensuring compliance with Marriott policies.

Promotions & Collaborations
- Actively plan and execute organised promotions, in close collaboration with the F&B Team and Bar Manager.
Key Requirements

Essential Criteria
- Experience in a 5-star hospitality environment (preferred).
- 2 years’ experience in Bar/Restaurant service (with supervisory experience considered a plus).
- Eligible to work in the UK (visa sponsorship unavailable).

Must Have Skills
- Exceptional Customer Service skills – natural ability to anticipate guest needs, remain professional under pressure, and cultivate a positive rapport.
- Strong English language communication (verbal and written).
- Budgeting and operation management skills.
- Excellent organisation, deadline orientation, and adaptability to shift workloads.
- Knowledge of hotel fire-safety procedures and compliance policies.
