3D CAD Designer - Energy Infrastructure
Location: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home)
Contract: 12 Months
Determination: Outside IR35
Rate: £40-£50 per hour (DOE)
We're looking for an experienced 3D CAD Designer to help build out an in-house design capability. Working alongside engineers and project teams, you'll produce high-quality 3D models and engineering drawings that support projects from bid and FEED stages through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using industry-standard CAD software.
- Develop general arrangement drawings, layouts and construction details.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary models to identify and resolve clashes.
- Prepare drawing packages for client, procurement and construction teams.
- Update models throughout the project lifecycle, including as-built information.
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, BIM requirements and CDE processes.
- Support visualisations, construction sequencing and practical, buildable design solutions.

About You
- HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, CAD, Design or similar.
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks or Bentley OpenBuildings/OpenRoads.
- Background producing engineering drawings for infrastructure or construction projects.
- Understanding of BIM, Common Data Environments (CDE) and engineering drawing standards.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within project teams.
