Business Analyst – 3P Transportation Execution (Fixed-Term Contract)
Role Summary We are seeking a curious, analytically-minded Business Analyst to join our 3P Transportation Execution team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will drive data-driven efficiency gains by designing automated analytical solutions, reducing manual processes, and improving customer experiences across our global carrier network.
About the Role
You will work with large, complex datasets to uncover opportunities and build automation that enhances Quality Management, Capacity Planning, Speed Enhancement, and Continuous Improvement. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, scoping projects autonomously, and delivering scalable solutions—leveraging AI, automation, and agentic technologies to optimise operations.

Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Analyse and derive insights: Deep-dive into performance metrics, operational data, and forecasting models to identify root-cause issues and improvement opportunities
- Build and deploy automated tools: Develop real-time dashboards, reports, and AI-driven solutions using SQL, Python, and internal platforms (e.g., QuickSight, AWS)
- Automate workflows: Design AI/ML-driven solutions that reduce manual tasks and augment team capacity
- Support strategic planning: Aid Operations Planning (OP) cycles with forecasting, scenario modelling, and data-driven recommendations
- Stakeholder collaboration: Translate business requirements into actionable analytical deliverables, partnering with Program Managers and senior leaders
- Communicate clearly: Present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences in simple, compelling ways
- Own project timelines: Manage autonomous project scopes, identify risks proactively, and ensure on-time delivery

Specialisation Areas (Depending on Business Needs)
- Quality Management: Analyse defect trends, carrier performance, and customer satisfaction to drive improvements
- Capacity Management: Build utilisation, volume forecasting, and readiness models for optimal carrier allocation
- Speed Enhancement: Develop frameworks to measure and improve delivery speed, promise adherence, and on-time performance
- Continuous Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies, automate workflows, and quantify the impact of optimisations
About the Team
This London/Milan-based role is within Amazon’s 3P Transportation Execution team, responsible for managing hundreds of millions of units across a complex global carrier network. Together, we ensure on-time, first-time deliveries for Postal, Parcel, and Express partners—Balancing cost efficiency, speed, and customer preference.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence (BI), Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Proven experience in highly analytical, results-driven environments with cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in SQL, with ability to write complex queries and analyse large datasets
- Experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl)
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and their applications in business processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to simplify technical insights for non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on automation and programming experience
- Knowledge of managed ML/AI solutions (e.g., AWS SageMaker, service-specific tools)
- Experience with Amazon Redshift and AWS ecosystem
- Familiarity with transportation operations and industry-specific challenges
- Self-starter mindset; ability to ** scoping, prioritising, and executing projects independently**
- Tool & visualization mastery: Experience developing dashboards, scorecards, process maps, and other decision-making aids
