3P Transportation Business Analyst, EU 3P Transportation Operations - 3P T&SB
Business Analyst (3P Transportation Execution) - Fixed-Term Contract
We’re looking for a curious, analytically-minded Business Analyst to join our 3P Transportation Execution team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you’ll own and deliver analytical and automation projects that support efficiency gains for our 3P Transportation and wider Amazon business.
About the Role
You will work with large, complex datasets to:
- Identify patterns and opportunities
- Build automated solutions that reduce manual effort across our network
- Partner on projects in areas such as Quality Management, Capacity Planning, Speed Enhancement, and Continuous Improvement across our 3P carrier network
The role involves translating business requirements into analytical deliverables, building collaborative relationships, and driving outcomes through data.
You will thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, prioritising:
- Shipment execution reliability (on time, first time, at the lowest cost)
- Customer experience enhancement
- Scalable, innovative automation, including AI and agentic technologies
Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Use data to generate observations, hypotheses, and actionable business insights, including:
- Root cause analysis of performance metrics and operational data
- Deep dives into forecasting models and forecasting trends
Build and maintain:
- Automated reporting, dashboards, and tools using SQL, Python, and platforms like QuickSight and AWS
- AI-driven solutions that reduce manual processes and augment team capacity
Leverage AI & automation to increase productivity and deliver scalable solutions, including:
- Agentic technologies to automate repetitive tasks and insights generation
- Continuous improvement initiatives via process optimisation and efficiency gains

Support operational planning cycles through:
- Data analysis
- Forecast modelling and scenario analysis
- Insights for capacity utilisation and readiness tracking
Collaborate with Programme Managers and senior stakeholders to:
- Translate business needs into analytical deliverables
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical and technical stakeholders
Manage projects autonomously, including:
- Scoping and scaling initiatives
- Timelines and deliverables
- Proactive risk escalation
Key Work Areas
Depending on business need, the role may involve developing analytics and automation in:
- Quality Management – analyse defect trends, carrier performance data, and customer satisfaction metrics
- Capacity Planning – carrier utilisation models, volume forecasting, and utilisation tracking
- Speed Enhancement – frameworks for measuring and improving delivery speed and promise adherence
- Continuous Improvement – lean automation, efficiency initiatives, and impact tracking
About the Team
This London/Milan-based role is part of the 3P Transportation Execution organisation, responsible for coordinating hundreds of millions of units annually from a global network. Your team:
- Manages domestic and cross-border Postal, Parcel, and Express carrier relationships
- Ensures on-time, reliable deliveries against speed and cost requirements
- Optimises volume flows and execution consistency for Amazon’s 3P shipping programme
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence (BI), Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or an equivalent quantitative field
- Experience in analytical, data-driven roles with cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in SQL (Business Intelligence and performance querying)
- Experience with 1+ scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, or Perl)
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools and applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to simplify complex findings for non-technical senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications
- Automation & programming experience (beyond minimum scripting) in analytics
- Experience with managed AI/ML platforms within key business applications
- Hands-on experience with AWS technologies (including Amazon Redshift)
- Industry knowledge in transportation operations
- Experience managing data-driven projects with autonomy
- Knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g., QuickSight) and their contribution to decision-making and reporting
